More about me:
I am a mixed media artist working in my studio in the rolling hills of the North Cotswolds UK.
I am in awe of, and inspired by, the vibrancy and fragility of the planet. I paint and create visual art to connect people in their hearts to the energy of the earth.
I have a deep connection to the natural world and I want to manifest that connection through my work; to connect to others on an emotional level and to capture the transitory essence of light, colour and nature. I use strong, saturated colour to express the joy and exuberance in the changing seasons and am especially attracted to trees, light through the canopy or foliage, and the seasonal moods of nature.
I continually explore new genres, ideas and mediums to develop new methods and to create imaginative and colourful work.
I spent most of my working life in the public sector as a teacher, and later in the corporate world as a specialist in Environmental Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility, I have always been an artist in my spare time. Around 2001, I retired and began to work as a professional.
I have written, illustrated and published a children’s book ‘Where’s Teddy’.
